Codie Sanchez on Picking Your Clients
Codie Sanchez on
Picking Your Clients
In this piece, Sanchez introduces the idea of Customer Debt — the hidden cost of keeping bad clients. The first payment is obvious: the discount you gave, the invoice you’re still chasing. The second is what nobody counts — the hours you spent managing a bad client instead of finding a great one. Her framework ranks client types from annoying to fire immediately, with the Payment Problem at the top: if they already got the value and you’re still chasing the cash, they should have been fired yesterday.
Meta Adds Exclusion-Only Audiences
Meta Adds Exclusion-Only
Audiences
Meta launched a new audience type that can only be used to exclude people from seeing your ads — not to target them. Once created, it can’t be converted into a regular audience. Use cases include excluding people who’ve opted out of your products, people you have a legal obligation not to target, employees, or existing customers you don’t want to spend budget reaching.
Google Expands Limited Ad Serving Policy
Google Expands Limited
Ad Serving Policy
Google is rolling out an expanded version of its Limited Ad Serving policy that applies to all Google Ads, not just certain formats. Starting August, accounts Google considers higher risk will have their ad impressions limited — not disapproved — while trusted advertisers with strong account history and verification see no change. Affected accounts will receive an in-account notification and can appeal.
Meta Adds New Beta Features To Edits
Meta Adds New Beta
Features To Edits
Meta added new experimental features to the beta tab in its Edits app. Speed curves let you create dynamic speed ramps along a customizable curve — one of the most requested features from short-form video creators. One-tap color correction automatically adjusts exposure, contrast, and tone. Folders let you organize projects with drag-and-drop. All features are off by default and can be toggled on individually for testing. Available on iOS now, with some features coming to Android.
LinkedIn Updates Feed to Prioritize Comments
LinkedIn Updates Feed
to Prioritize Comments
LinkedIn is changing how comments are ranked and displayed — surfacing the ones most relevant to each individual user based on their professional interests, connections, and engagement history rather than showing comments in chronological order. LinkedIn is also pushing more active discussions into the main feed to encourage more participation. The update comes after LinkedIn reported an 18% year-over-year increase in time spent in post comments — though worth noting that a separate analysis found 30% of LinkedIn comments between April and June were entirely AI-generated.
Google Tests AI Feature Buttons on Its Homepage
Google Tests AI Feature
Buttons on Its Homepage
Google is running a limited test that adds three buttons directly beneath the search box on its homepage — Create Images, Ask About Files, and Brainstorm. Clicking any of them takes users into AI Mode. Google confirmed the test, noting it has no impact on how the core search box works.
OpenAI CFO on Building an AI-Native Finance Function
OpenAI CFO on
Building an AI-Native
Finance Function
OpenAI’s CFO Sarah Friar published five lessons from rebuilding the company’s finance function around AI. The core idea: don’t use AI to do existing work faster — redesign the work around the decision you’re trying to make. Her team moved from static spreadsheets to live dashboards, and gave non-technical finance professionals the ability to build their own tools. One team member with no coding background used AI to turn a monthly forecast into automated daily and weekly plans.
